Ode to My Pico
My one and only favorite love bird Pico passed away this evening. He was found lying dead on his birdcage. He was probably sick over the week without me really noticing. How can I tell if its bird flu or not, when I've never really had any knowledge of taking care of birds. The poor guy, he was at his sweetest the past few days.
He was one bird with a big personality. I can usually tell when he's in an annoying mood or not. When he is, he can ignore you for all he cares, but when he's in a sweet mood, he'd let you pat him from head to tail.
The old folks here believe that when a family pet dies, it is because they want to save their owners from the harm or bad luck that may befall them. These pets take on the bad luck to themselves instead.
If that is the case, thank you Pico. I won't forget your bravery.
We buried him in the garden that evening.
He will be missed.
