Fellowship of Charing

I miss having our regular chitchat sessions with the gals...Tonjie, Victor, Rene and I. It's been a while since we were complete since Tonj was out of the country for quite some time. My crazy mind loved to dub our gatherings as a fellowship, inspired by the LOTR movies. We would spend most evenings till the wee hours of the morning, talking about things that both do and do not matter but have affected our lives in some way. Not to mention all other gossips in the industry that we belong all to...hehehe. At the same time, we decided to suprise Rene with a sumptuous but intimate birthday dinner to celebrate a year of up, but mostly down happenings...the year that was 2004! I'm really looking forward to our future gatherings and see what 2005 has in store for this group!

RANTS AND RAVES
Rant -- forgot to watch hbo sex and the city and carnivale!
Rave -- long time no chika with my gay barkada! The fellowhip has returned!

Then Came the Korean Oscars

First is was the Golden Horse, now its the 25th Annual Blue Dragon Awards, Korea's answer to the Oscars. I was pretty amazed with the set-up of the show, not to mention the beautiful Korean actors who graced the red carpet. Lighting, flow, stage design, set-up...what more can I say but wow! Maybe I'll see the Japanese oscars tommorow hehehe.

ON A SERIOUS NOTE...
Why can't our manila film fest awards be as gorgeous and as world-class as these two asian award giving bodies? Even the simple lighting, stage design and flow isn't even comparable to what these two can show. Maybe it's high time we get more investors or maybe even get the government to build better stage venues or renovate old ones (i.e. manila film fest building down in roxas). Our country has so many talented production people who can actually produce shows that are at par with the rest of the world. Again, everything boiles down to the lack of opportunities and facilities that our country has not been providing for the past decades
Hay...politics.

THOUGH OF THE DAY...
No wonder all that we can do is say 'wow!' to the rest of the world and not 'wow! Phlippines!' Tsk. Tsk...

The Chinese Oscars

As I lay stuk in bed nursing a sore throat and cold, i changed upon one of the chinese channels on cable televising their own version of the oscars called the 41st Annual Golden Horse Award.

ON A LIGHTER NOTE...
Its amazing to see that even longevity is present in the chinese showbiz scene. Andy Lao, a long time veteran chinese actor, took home for the nth time, the best actor award. Moreover, a lot of the nominees and winners were veteran actors and actresses as well. I just find it really amazing how they've managed to stay in the biz for more than 20 years! And still be one of those sought-after actors for some of Hong Kong's great films. It's a rarity that we actually see here in the local showbiz scenario. I wish we can do something to change that, moreover, uplift the quality of Philippine talents.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY...
Happy Birthday Jenoy!!! Libre!

Ranting Alert

Don't say I didn't warn you.

I miss him...

Or then again maybe its just the late reaction that I have from staring at the full moon for too long a couple of days ago...ay nako..tsk tsk!

Nope, I just miss him...or maybe, more so, the happy and contented times we spent together. Hummm, good memories do really last you a long time, especially if kept in the heart.

Bygones...

ON A HAPPIER NOTE...
At least I have an event at the end of the month!!! Woohoo! I just hate clients who don't know how to get back to you...especially when intution tells me that they just stole my group's concepts again...may their karma be granted to them 1000x over...I wouldn't mind more if deemed necessary=)

Finally, I get to watch The Incredibles! Really funny film! I love the "tianak" baby that they have there...I want one just like it!!! Then again, maybe I'd better be careful with what I wish for...next for the movie list...bridget jones diary 2.

STARSTUCK? Just saw Kris Aquino too a while ago...I wonder why she doesn't have bodyguards with her? Then again, with her feisty nature, would she need any?=)

THOUGHTS OF THE DAY...
Hun, know that I love you unconditionally...finally I can say goodbye without any bitterness towards you. To everyone else close to me, my macaroons are back to fill up your tummies for the holiday season!=)

I hope I get to fill up my starbucks card soon! Can't wait to get their new planner=)

Looking forward to a busy and prosperous 2005!

PAHABOL...
Happy Birthday Rowee!!!!

Glowing Like Hell

Its been more than two weeks and people still notice that I'm glowing!!! Wow, that's amazing...will it help to pick up more eligible bachelors? Gosh, I'm starting to miss Fabs again...hehehe.

Its back to writing for me. Went out with one of my best friends, Reg, today for a little get together...aka libre niya...and some discussions on going back to being contributers for magazines and websites. Its hard to get yourself motivated to write especially when you don't feel like it. But deadlines are deadlines and its hard to pass up great opportunities that just suddenly open up to you again when you least expected them to...

ON A SERIOUS NOTE...
Think its a sign for a career change? I've been writing too many scripts already, maybe its time for me to exercise my creative writing juices again and to spread my "lagim" across magazines soon to be launched asia wide. Humm, maybe bigger audience = more minds I can corrupt...hehehe=)

THOUGHT OF THE DAY...
Belated Happy Birthday Reg! Thanks for the treat! May the force be with you! Luv ya!
